What is a niche?
A niche is one product area for example, you may decide to sell products in a health area. Let’s say that it’s for people with candida. You might want to sell diets and recipes, information on how to handle the different symptoms that occur with this condition and a product on the cure for it.
One of the sub-niches of the candida health area might be oral thrush and another one yeast infections.
How to choose the right niche
Now that we have identified what a niche is, how do you know which one to choose so that you can make some money online? The only way to discover this is to do some research. You should be checking the keyword tools such as Google Adwords so that you can see how many people are searching for information and products in those niches.
A keyword is a search term of between 3 and 6 words that is specific to your chosen niche.
Try adding a couple of relevant keywords to the tool and running a search on them. You should then check out what comes up when you search for those on Google. You’ll be able to check that you have selected something suitable by the results that come back. You’ll also be able to get a feel for the affiliate marketing competition that you could be up against.
I always prefer to select a niche that I am familiar with. One that I have some knowledge on. This means that I’ll be able to write something about the topic and add some value by adding my own content.
Now comes the commitment part. All successful affiliate marketing requires commitment.
There is no such thing as making riches overnight. It’s essential to have an action plan in place that you can follow. Even if you have a full time job, you should be able to find enough time to work on your affiliate marketing business, even if it’s for just one hour a day, with a couple of hours on weekend days. There is plenty of help online and plenty of ways that you’ll be able to market your business and products for free without needing to spend out on costly advertising.
Use free marketing
Article marketing has been one of the most successful marketing methods for me. I add at least 2 articles to an article distributing software every week. This software will send my articles to several article databases and that will maximize my chances of getting my articles found. It’s also important to add a few keywords to your article so that you can influence how often the search engines will bring traffic to your article, and ultimately your website or sales page.
By taking regular action, before long you’ll have a burgeoning affiliate marketing business of your own.
