If you’re a full-time online marketer and webmaster, you may get the feeling (in my case a stubborn opinion) that because SEO has become such a big industry, it has to be “complicated up” rather than “dumbed down” for the receiving audience. In other words, it is in the best interest of SEO firms and services, to make SEO seem like a much more complex process than it actually is in practice.

This applies doubly true for when it comes to ranking high in Google. Many SEO firms go into all kinds of “linking structures”, “site metrics”, “keyword correlations”, “onpage factors”… in explaining how to achieve those top Google spots for lucrative keywords. Granted, the Google Algorithm has over 200 ranking signals or factors, which they use to rank pages. And this mathematical formula is constantly being redefined or altered by major changes, such as the recent Panda Update, which left many webmasters reeling. But…

While Google’s ranking Algorithm and system might be the most complex creature on the planet, ranking high in Google is a very simple process. So simple anyone can do it and achieve first page listings in Google. It’s not rocket science and it’s not complex by any stretch of the imagination. However, it does take some work on the part of the webmaster to actively promote his or her site. In other words, if you just create a perfect site and place it on the web and do nothing else – chances are extremely high you won’t get those top rankings in Google, at least not for the highly competitive lucrative keyword phrases.

This is where SEO (Search Engine Optimization) enters the picture and takes over. You must get certain factors/signals right if you want your site to truly compete in major search engine keyword battles. But most of these things or factors are not difficult or hard to understand, you just need to have them in place if you want top listings in the search engines.

Here are some things you can do to simplify the whole SEO process:

1. Try to create a short domain with your targeted keyword in the domain name, go with a .com domain if you can get it and if you have to use a multi-worded domain, try to get your keyword at the beginning.

2. Create an “easy to navigate” unique content rich site which is optimized for the search engines, but directed solidly at solving your visitor’s needs. If you’re on a budget, one of the easiest ways to do this is to use the free WordPress software/platform to create a keyword optimized site. Make sure this site is totally intertwined with all the latest social networking programs such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Linkedin, YouTube… make sure you have profiles/accounts in all of these platforms to compliment your main site.

3. Link to main interior pages from your home or index page. These interior pages should have your targeted keywords in the “Title”, “URL”, “Meta Tags”, “H1 Headings”, “First Paragraph”, “Last Paragraph” and use keyword variations throughout the content. Place a few in bold print and italics. Don’t be afraid to create large pages and link out to other authority sites in your niche. Don’t worry about keyword density unless it goes over 4%… this should not happen if you write naturally for your visitor and not for the search engines.

4. Build quality one-way links by creating articles, press releases, blog posts, videos, viral reports… and submit these to the major places on the web such as free article directories (my favorites are still ezinearticles, goarticles, buzzle, ideamarketers, isnare and article alley). The real trick here is to consistently produce fresh content, which steadily builds your backlinks month after month, year after year, decade after decade!

5. Do whatever you can do to enrich your visitor’s experience. Add valuable free content, free ebooks or ecourses, offer comprehensive guide or guides to your visitors. Connect all this free content to your autoresponder opt-in list or newsletter and build repeat targeted traffic to your site. In addition, make it extremely easy for these visitors to bookmark/follow your content in all the social media sites: Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Google +1, and so on.

6. Rinse and Repeat. One of the little known tactics about achieving top rankings in the search engines, especially Google, is to create not one site but two or more sites in your niche market. (If you’re on a budget or time is short, try creating two pages on the your domain related to the same targeted keyword.) Instead of trying to rank for one site in Google, create two complimentary sites on the same related keywords, and you will find it much easier to get to the top spots. Interlink these sites and you can even promote them together, just make sure they each have unique content and adds more detail and/or information for the visitor.

Over the years, I have come to believe strongly, achieving high rankings is not some complex process but just a matter of persistence. Consistently promoting your content by building quality backlinks will get you to the top and keep you there. But the whole trick is persistence, keeping at it, day after day… building those links back to your content. I also believe it is the number of backlinks which is the key and this has been proven to me many times over the years. Many SEO experts will now argue that links have taken a back seat to other factors such as site authority and structure, but I am not convinced this has happened. At least not yet, but data from the 160+ million Google Chrome users and the new Google +1 Button, may eventually lower the importance of backlinks and PageRank.

However, at the present time, if I stop promoting a page or competitive keyword, it usually drops from the first page of Google. To get it back on the first page, all I have to do is promote it with a few articles, blog posts, press releases, videos… and it jumps back into the top spots, even Post Panda. For years, I had a webpage for “list building” in Google on the first page, then I stopped promoting it with keyword related articles, posts, videos, content… it dropped to the third page of Google. Changing none of the ranking factors mentioned above, I was quickly able to get that page and ranking back to the #5 spot by simply creating some current backlinks to the content. I mention all this because many times, SEO firms and experts will try to complicate things with convoluted explanations and complex processes. While in actual fact, achieving high rankings can be simplified down to nothing more than persistence and adding a few quality backlinks.

Article marketing is one of the greatest ways to do Internet marketing because of its low cost. As a matter of fact if you are willing to do all of your own work you can build an Internet business through article marketing without spending any money.

4. Search engine traffic. Write your articles targeting a keyword phrase. These articles can be picked up by the search engines and ranked which can lead to more traffic.

Many people get hung up on this concept when in reality it’s not hard to do. Use a good keyword resource tool such as Traffic Travis, and then write articles using one keyword phrase per article.

Over time you will develop a very large base of articles around specific keywords. The search engines love this and the amount of traffic you can get from this strategy is fantastic.

These are 4 ways article marketing is free to do and you can benefit from. As you began to make money you may want to use tools to automate some of your article marketing. You can even hire a freelance writer to write some of your content for you which will free up even more of your time.

At 3 months and half after the start of this blog I received the proof as all that I done was right. In New Web Site on Google Index… I inserted the first results with screen-shots as proof from the big search engines. But many people thought as it could be just a theory. Today morning I saw in Google PR 4, then in Alexa classification the place 290.000. At this time this blog is hosted free, I used only free methods and free traffic sources. Also from the main page are missing some things, exceeds the number of outbund links and there are more than 3 banners on page. That means in reality that Google Page Rank could be higher.

But what things help to have a PR 4? The first important step is to apply a correct SEO technique. In SEO tips of common sense… I stressed the main points that might to be followed, the main fact as a web page would be optimized for search engines, not stuffed by keywords or other worst things. A web page can`t create alone a higher PR, that page would be just a webpage build SEO friendly. We can`t do more here, more means exaggeration. But in outside we can do more: quality backlinks building. But what is the difference between SEO and SEM?

SEO in the main use free sources to dealing with natural results in different search engines. It`s a continuously work to obtain high ranking in search engine result page – SERP – for selected keywords or group of words – key phrases. A higher PageRank is a tool desired by any webmaster and that arouses heated discussion. It is known as only Google`s employees knows the exact algorithm for PR and SERP classification for a website or blog. All the knowledge of the SEO experts id based on many tests in a long time period, their experience accumulated and a permanently monitoring in all the updates and changes of the big search engines. The description of PageRank by Google:

Matt Cutts, the chief of the web spam team at Google stress its importance in his blog:

„Disclaimer: Even when I joined the company in 2000, Google was doing more sophisticated link computation than you would observe from the classic PageRank papers. If you believe that Google stopped innovating in link analysis, that’s a flawed assumption. Although we still refer to it as PageRank, Google’s ability to compute reputation based on links has advanced considerably over the years. I’ll do the rest of my blog post in the framework of “classic PageRank” but bear in mind that it’s not a perfect analogy.”

The most of time I like to help others, to build something; I avoid spending my time and energy in contradictory discussions that will not lead anywhere.

Google will never explain his entire algorithm of calculation, to avoid as the webmasters to start to manipulate the results of searches. So from their explanations, how much we can understand?

“PageRank Technology: PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results.”

After a long time of testing and by comparing with other SEO specialists opinions, a higher PR is an element which help in SERP. „I has PR 0 and my site is in top, so PR don`t matter” you`ll want to say. Well, lets explain:

Firstly – a website with PR 0 or low Page Rank will oscillate frequently in a SERP, the most of cases will decrease in positions in short time, or even will disappear in some circumstances.

The second – not only PR will ranking high a website in search results…. the main is the SEO work well done; in a particular case: the number of the anchor texts used for a specified (top) keyword, and how much relevant are those websites where you inserted these anchor texts for that specified (top) keyword. Maybe more easy to understood, I found this explanation in „The Anatomy of…”: „PageRank is an excellent way to prioritize the results of web keyword searches.”.

Google ask nothing more than quality content and a fair work. Try to avoid using aggresive SEO techniques, automatic software to create content or backlinks, or any other exaggeration of any kind. The content is the king, but don`t forget about to apply the correct SEO rules, which is the queen – or better said, learn to use the Art of Blogging.

It is a lack of knowledge to affirm as „PR don`t count” or as „PR don`t matter at all in SERP”. As longer as Google keep the PageRank as a measuring tool for the quality of a website or blog, the work to bring a worth content and to use proper SEO will help increasing your PageRank site that will assure a constantly position in search results and even an increasing in ranking.

The big Google use advanced techniques to show the relevant results in searches; often you`ll see a change in the position of the new, or with low PR websites, in the same day. By learning the Art of Blogging, as much you`ll understand deeply how the search engines works and you`ll use all your knowledge as best, you`ll can`t avoid using all the resources for increasing the PageRank of your site.

For the first time published on November, 15, 2009.

In the first article from this blog I wrote about the project started in July 13^th with a Clickbank product and my actual blog. Search engines evolve day by day and we need to keep our attention to all their changes. Few days ago I have had an unpleasant surprise, something similar with was happening before of July 13^th.

At that time in my website with a Clickbank product I set a simple 301 redirect command to the main page of that product – a setting used by years by many top marketers. Well, Google seems that then changed something in their algorithm. Matt Cutts explained some time after that the effect, something like: “if too many web sites use redirect 301 to a main website then Google will strengthen that product link, only that link will appear in SERP`s (search engine results page)” – to see Webmaster Tools video collection on Youtube –

With some changes in index I could bring my referral product page in my website, in this way protecting my referral link – the main reason for this procedure -. So the visitors could seen my referral link through the link of my website, something similar to bit.ly, ow.ly, hootsuite, tiny.url and other the same services. In 1-2 days the things come back to normal, my website appeared as usual in Google search results and in index. From then I reached to 20 keywords in the 1st page of Google, a notable result in less time I think.

3 months all things was all right, constant sales, better positions from a week to another, nice things. As I wrote in above, few days ago it seems as Google made another change and the result was the same as before of July 13^th; again the main page of Clickbank product appeared in all places with results of searches where was my website and in searching for the website in with the command „http”; for the command „site:…” or by searching for „www” my website still appears correctly. A big problem for anyone I think.

I don`t know if Google try to extends his rules, if for Google search engine at this time it are not enough just the classification for results and the storage of SERP`s, but I know the feeling of frustration as referral for this promotion work done and the time spent for that… To mention as this change was just in Google, the other two giants of search engines Bing and Yahoo have not changed anything!

I could ask if a referral with some technical skills don`t have to right to obtain results from search engines for his referral page but it`s not here the right place. For an article, news, publication is logical to be the problem with the identical content, but could be extended that problem to the referral programs, where all pages from a program have an unique content?!… hm… that is it, these are the Google`s rules and we have to respect all these.

Logical, it was the time for another changing, for this time it was need to change the index page, a major changing of my website, usually a reason for re-indexing or decreasing positions in the search results. I deleted also index.php from Google Webmaster Tools with the logical results of disappearing of my website from index. Usual I could have to wait another 3-6 months for indexing of my website and so on. How much time it was need for my website?

In 24 hours my website appeared in Google.ro (my country), in 48 hours appeared in Google.com and in the next day in all the results where it was before. In below is a screen shot made one hour ago.

As a extension of the project from this blog is a part, I just started another domain name to verify what it could be the minimum possible for a fast index in Google. With a sending to just 8-10 Bookmarks and 3-4 websites with PR 3-4 – a setting of 15-20 minutes – this time I obtained in 14 hours the first entry in Google index. I`m convinced with all that I know it could be possible in just 1-3 hours. I repeat, keep an eye on this place where you`ll see a lot of interesting things.

In the first 8-9 articles from the main page can be find a lot of free information about what everyone have to do to obtain a quick performance. I stress the importance of the article „Seo…”, for all those who need fast results I recommend a visit and a careful reading in Business tools page, where at least one quality product will could find everyone for its needs. In the subtitles by clicking on „Viral” you`ll be sent to my personal product – Viral Media Distribution – which represents all details and tools that I used in present, I could say „my actual way”. But here is the place where anyone could start in the right way in his own online business activity, even without almost any investment.

Do you can obtain top results in Google and other search engines without being a SEO expert?

Rae Hoffman published a post in January called “You Don’t Need SEO to Rank in Google” The main point is that lots of traffic to your site is a positive signal to the search engines. Here it`s a excerpt from that post:

“My nofollowed link from Twitter is more valuable to me than my dofollow link from TechCrunch because it sends me traffic on a regular basis that sends the right signals to Google while bringing actual human beings to my site.”

There are many SEO tutorials who explain details about SEO optimization techniques of a web page. It`s well known the importance of the title, description, the right keywords, content, hyperlinks in text, quotes, dashes, design, layouts, all these thought for a better search engine optimization, of course details about html code, but all these details can be found easy with a simple search for “html tutorial” on Google or other search engine.

An equilibrium in all components is the key to reach the goal. By keywords stuffing or any other exaggeration like this you`ll obtains only the contraire results. In the main people search for backlinks. „I need more backlinks”. Why is this important? PR rush! In present any search engine and much more Google have smart algorithms to evaluate the quality of the structure of a web page; pagination, keywords density, text quality, design, layouts, inlinks, outlinks, images and so on. Without be a SEO expert, you can know common rules for a web page optimization. The title must contain at least one keyword, rich keyword for heading and subheading (h1, h2…h6) at least one keyword at each 1-2 paragraphs; 5-7% is an indicated percent for the keyword density in a web page text. Image “alt” attributes

The “alt” attribute is used to define an “alternate text” for an image in the case someone visits your page with a browser that can`t show images. It`s well known the importance that Google grant to images and videos, we can`t lose a possibility to appear in searches for a image from our website.

(This article is not thought for technical details. With a simple “html code” searching in Google you`ll find a lot of information. In Youtube also you can find a lot of video details about html code integration. If you think it`s hard to learn some main rules, then try an easy method; I worked some time with Microsoft Front Page, but you can choose any free html editor, how could it be Page Breeze.

In any html editor you`ll have a “normal” or “edit” option, where appear all details that can be seen and a “html”, “source” or “code” where appear the html code. By typing a word in the “normal” section, then using  one by one the options “bold”, “color”, “font”, “link”, “insert image” and then switching to html source you`ll see one by one how appear each of these settings in html code and it`s the most easy method to learn.)

We have to understand as SEO (search engine optimization) means exactly what it`s written, a web page optimization. We can`t exaggerate here, Google and any other search engine have clear algorithms to calculate the quality of a web page. The text must be made for readers, just optimized for SEO. Nobody can`t obtain a huge score from here, the rest came from outside, from one way backlinks. Important for any search engine – monitoring link partners

There is an important thing that not many webmasters know about.. In many places we can see complaints like this: “My PR down suddenly”, “My site in searches was sent in x page from the 1st Google`s page” or even worst “My site disappeared from Google results” and most of time these people don`t changed nothing in their sites. They can`t understand what`s happens. What could it be the answer?…

Backlinks from partners. Most of people build backlinks, tons of backlinks, but just a few know the importance to monitoring link partners. Some of these partners could remove our links from their website without us knowing about it. We can remove all these links to these “partners” and this alone will allow us to pass more PR to our own web pages within our website and will help us rank better almost instantly!

Lets think to an example: we just made a link exchange with a partner, while we both exchanged links with quality website of PR 4 or 5. Your partner, because a lack of traffic, will try a Black-Hat SEO tactics, the main reason that a web site can be banned by a search engine. Google decides to ban his website and it`s no longer in Google`s.

Now, guess what`s next? We still linking to the partner web site, which is considered a “bad neighbor” and we could be actually get penalized by search engines for linking to it, without doing anything differently in our website. That is why it’s very important to keep a close eye on who you’re linking to.

Theoretically we can search manual in the partners websites to see if we are still linking out to any bad neighbors, but in sites with thousands of pages it`s need of a lot of time and patience. An easy method is to use SEO Elite that will automate and simplify this important process and almost instantly we`ll see an increase in our ranking.

If we do a link exchange with a website, we have to check back to that site every once in awhile to make sure that they haven’t been banned by Google or other search engine, or that our link is keep in their website. This is one of the top reasons that people get penalized by Google, and the sad part is, they have no idea what they have done wrong because they haven’t actually changed anything on their site!

At beginning we need of a fast indexing and then of a lot of traffic. Few words about what NOT to do when trying to get indexed by Google or any other big search engine. Never use the popular web submission form of search engine. In their statement it`s written it can take up 4 to 6 weeks for your website to be placed into their index or even more. For what we have to waste  our time? A fast indexing in any big search engine can be obtained in 1-3 days, performance and traffic in less than a month.

The known method is to obtain backlinks from websites with PR 5 in three days or PR 6 in a day, but for a new website is not so easy to obtain it. So was called my first post published on this WordPress blog almost two years ago.

That was the subtitle posted then. A video presentation was posted also as proof about what you can do when you know some essential information. All these things has happened, already belong to the history.

Almost a year this blog was on the first Google SERP pages for many targeted keywords and helped me in other hand in promoting and selling some top affiliates marketing products that were set on other websites of mine. It were good times!

Each of us have to pass through difficult moments in his life. It was need to change my activity, to move elsewhere, to solve some old things. A year and half I stayed away from my online business – hard times. Just with all my work from the past the Clickbank checks and Paypal payouts continued to come regularly still five months!

I think the same thing should have been today if some people with negative intentions should not be sent attacks with harmful codes, malware and other the same things to my WordPress blog and to my websites set with affiliates products for sales.
